Think I moved to Minnesota

Post by Bruce Fenstermacher »

It's October 29th. It's been snowing hard for the last 5 hours. I say again, it is ONLY October 29th. 8O

For those familiar with weather patterns we are having a Nor'easter. The weather will pass over us and do a big 360 and hit us again. Forcast to snow all day ending after midnight 4-8 inches of accumulation. And it is only October 29th. 8O

Hey Bruce
You can come to Minnesota any time JUST leave that STUFF there

We started out sunshine and 26 degrees but it's overcast and 50 now. In 1990 we had a 3 day blizzard here so it can happen to all of us.

I even see some of Texas received some of that STUFF.

Hope the snow blower works for ya

Incredible.
No accumulation yet but, our freezing rain just turned into a wet snow outside.

Global Warming, my ass.

Yes those are solar panels and yes they are mine. 30 panels. It's a 7.2 KWH system that we have generated 6700kHW of electricity since April 18th of this year. Probably only generated .02KWH today until the snow covered them and shut down the system.

Here, just to the right of the wind mill just past the bird bath, is a picture of the 2- 230ft geothermal wells we had drilled this year for our new geothermal heat pump. It's not effected by the snow and we are toasty and very efficiently warm.

Temperature is dropping here too. I'm going to have to pick the last of the mangos and bananas today. The forecast has it going down to 74 degrees.
Almost time to get out the lined tee shirts.

Dang it was a nice day in Northern California.

Concord to Chico and back with my kids to see some friends and eat a burger.
No wind on the way there, 20 knot tailwind on the way back.
Air smooth as glass.

I was a little north of the banana groves, but I'll bet BL had a nice day of pickin.

Got a doggone mango rash again. Gotta stop eatin' the darn things. The bananas were fine, but I'm still peeved at Elvis for touting me onto those peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

It was 31 degrees here in north Georgia this morning. Too cold for October 30th. At least the sun is shining.

We had 34 in Fayetteville, NC this morn visiting my grandson and his dad. Ice on the windshield. They accused me of bringing our PA weather here. Well, enjoy what we have, it could be worse.

I moved to Tehachapi the last week of October 1996. Halloween night saw 8" of snow fall that year. Lasted about a day. My girls got to see their first White Christmas that year. The low that whole winter (and many since) was in the mid 20's F. The last two years, we've had measurable snow the Sunday before Memorial Day (yes, the one in late MAY).

Yesterday, as we approached Tehachapi from a weekend in Paso Robles, the KTSP ASOS reported temp was 24C (75F) (dewpont minus-something). This morning, it was 36F, no frost or dew, looking for a high in the 70's again. I can deal with that.
