Re: 170B seats
Thanks for the info and offers. I am too far down the path to switch seats, and the plane has passed annual for a number of years, so I think I'll finish up and reinstall as best i can figure out.

Re: 170B seats
Thanks for the prompt replies. I will get a picture of the seats as soon as I return home (I'm out of town for several days). It wouldn't surprise me if the seats were from another plane, and I can always put them in the plane to see what looks to be the best way for them to be arranged.

170B seats
Ok, I did a dumb thing. I recently bought a 1952 170B (that wasn't dumb, what follows was), and in the process of doing some overhauling I removed the front seats. What I didn't realize was that the seats are different, right vs. left. The seat backs have an angle to one side of the back, but I am n...

Thank you all for the good comments. Elbow grease seems the best product.

Re: door and window gaskets/weatherstripping
Thanks for all the helpful information. I am making good, but slow, progress. Should be flying in a month or so.

interior cleaning
Ok, another novice question: I have my 170B fully opened up (interior removed, inspection covers open, etc) and I am wondering what I should (or should not) do to clean out the interior. The plane was built with a seaplane kit so it has pretty good corrosion protection, but it was on floats in salt ...

door and window gaskets/weatherstripping
I am looking for a source for my 1952 C170B window and door rubber. The window is a top-hinge, tilt out and the gasket forms around a flange on the inner door frame. The door is just the typical, standard door -- but it needs rubber weatherstripping to be glued to the door frame. Any ideas for sourc...

Re: New (to me) 170B Questions
Thanks for the helpful replies.
I am a little slow on all this… so, how do I access the archives to find info on the Cessna service kits for the cowl steps? Is it in Cessna's archives, or the C170 Assn's? If in Assn's, how do I search?
Sorry for being so ill-informed…all this is fairly new to me.

Re: New (to me) 170B Questions
I understand that a strong doubler should be installed with the cowl steps -- but is there any 337 or whatever to get it approved?

New (to me) 170B Questions
I just bought a 1952 170B here in the Seattle area. A couple questions that I would appreciate any comment on: 1. I bought some salvage 170 "steps" to put on the side of the cowl (along with a handle) to make it easier to climb up to check fuel caps, etc. I am now learning that there is no...

Re: $100 Hamburger NORTHWEST (WA,OR,ID,WY,MT)
Harvey Field (S43) near Snohomish, WA has a great restaurant right on the field. Skydivers depart and arrive 100' from your table, and a playground for young kids. Nice grass strip alongside the paved.
