This book on the Cessna 170 is published by the editors as a true labor of love. It is meant to be a record of the history of the Cessna 170 with technical information based on the manufacturer's publications as well as a reference volume from these same sources. In addition, subjective flight reports are added as well as operational information largely contributed by members of The International Cessna 170 Association based on their experience with the aircraft. Various modifications are described as a record of what has been tried by others. Thus, those who would attempt to improve the breed need not reinvent the wheel.

This, the Fourth Edition, also includes an updated history of The International Cessna 170 Association and it's activities through the years from formation in 1969 to the present.

As many of you know, this is a very popular book. The Third Edition has been out of print for quite some time, and many people have anxiously awaited this update.

The first section addressing the Electrical System is intended to provide the owner/service technician with a comprehensive resource for troubleshooting and reparing the Cessna 170 electrical system. Containing detailed wiring schematics, original wiring sizes, lengths and routing, as well as theory and function of the basic systems, including detailed yet simple troubleshooting methods of the generator charging system, it should be considered a must-have for the do-it-yourself type as well as the experienced repairman.
