Cessna CEO 170 Owner?

Hi All,

I was reading an article the other day about Ron Draper, the current head of Cessna, and the cover shot showed him in a hanger in casual clothes next to a 170. Is he perhaps a 170 owner? According to the article he's a pilot, but it didn't mention his personal flying.

Thanks,
DEM

No one named Draper is listed in the ‘19 Directory (the last Directory published so-far. The Directory is published every 2 years.)

Looking through the FAA's database there are no Ron Draper that owns an aircraft. Of course he could have it in an LLC or Ron may not be his "official" name.

The 170 that Ron is standing in front in that picture is the TAEFC (Textron Aviation Employee's Flying Club) airplane, N3453C. She's a really beauty, flew in her last year and plan to get my Tail Wheel in it this spring. Ron is an active member of our flying club though!

N3453C has an interesting history. It was once (first?) owned by the USDA Forest Service. Here's a picture of it in 1957, three years after it left the factory. Being a Textron employee, could you determine if the USDA had Cessna paint it like this or did it get the full paint job after leaving the factory?

Apparently C-170's were quite popular with the USFS

Sorry to hijack the thread. Great to hear that Ron is an active pilot there! Does he fly the 170?

Is it possible that this is the C-170 in the Textron Aero Club that the Cessna employee flew over to the airport (I've forgotten its name) and led us over to the old Cessna Airport delivery center when we were at the 2019 convention?
