LED Beacon Selection

My Whelen Rotating Beacon packed it in last flight. I'm going to make the jump to a LED Anti Collision Beacon and would like some feedback from users. The two I'm considering that are TSO'ed are the AeroLED Sunbeacon II and the Aveo RedBaron XP any information and pics of mounted units would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

I fondled this fine Whelen product at Oshkosh but alas my old Whelen self contained won’t break ( maybe It needs a fixing  )
Also I need a new ELT, one made with approved Chinese parts.

Thanks for the suggestion Jim, that unit does look good. Whichever unit I settle on, I believe an adapter plate will be required. I was hoping a few members had pics to share of these units in place. Mike

Mike if you're planning on keeping yours for a bit I may have one but I'm not wishing to wreck your potential sale either.

I think I have the shorter version, made out of glass thats been looking for a home. I believe its from a Whelan older version rotating beacon.

Jim, no worries at all. I pulled the beacon yesterday and going to mess with it for a bit to see if I can bring it back to life reliably. By the end of this weekend I should have the verdict on whether it is staying, or going for sure. I will give John a call in Alaska about the lense but if yours better fits his needs please go ahead. My lense has two (2) screws through the top which secure a post and power wire, which looks different then your lense? Now getting back to the LED option, ..I found this picture of the Aveo Redbaron in the forums from 2013 I believe. I like the look , and a few people weighed in with comments. I want to see the Sunbeacon mounted up..so if anyone has it in place and can provide feedback I would appreciate it. Mike
For whatever reason I'm not able to upload the picture of the Redbaron beacon from the 2013 post?

I found this on a Beech forum. This is the way I'm going , and have the Sunbeacon II and Mount on its way from Spruce. I will post a picture when it is installed. Mike

Finally found the time to install the Sunbeacon LED and fabricated adapter plate to close the space left from the Whelen WRM-12 removal. This looks great in my opinion and is incredibly bright. Mike
