Just going over log books of my newly acquired C170.
Does anyone know the history of a D.D. Worley?
That is the name who flew test flight of N1992C.

Pages 194-196 of Wm Thompson's "Cessna, Wings for the World" has pictures of key personel in 1948 in which Mort Brown is pictured. Mort was the Chief Production Test pilot for Cessna thru the 170 series production and attended our Branson Convention in 2008. DD Worley is not mentioned that I can find, but remember, lots of employees in lesser positions passed thru Cessna in the post war years on their way to other employers.

Doyle Worley.

Fascinating guy. Test flew 56D. One of the two main test pilots alongside Mort Brown. Hardly a lesser employee passing through...

Hey I figured somebody would have the information on D.D. Worley.
Thanks, I’ll put this in with my logs. Great history and what a hero!

The February 1952 issue of Flying has a flight review of the then new C-170B by Ed Hoadley flying with test pilot Doyle Worley.

Ryan, don't misconstrue my comments. I never referred to DD Worley as a "lesser employee". I only pointed out that Wm Thompson's published photograph of the key personnel at Cessna did not identify him. (I admit the rest of that sentence would have been clearer if I'd made it a separate comment.)

After my annual I finally got to looking through the logs. Test pilot for N1932C was also DD Worley.

The test flight for 98C isn’t dated either...

Miles, the fact that it wasn’t dated surprised me! Guess it must’ve been really a production job and they ran them through quickly. And 55 minutes doesn’t provide a lot of time to check too many items off the checklist either.
