Too bad.

I’ll go look at it and take pictures the next time I’m in Dallas, probably Dec17 or 18.

It was a prop-strike. The engine is a Lycoming according to the insurance claim info...but the serial number of that engine as well as the prop indicate it to be a Continental C145/O300. Either way, it's a ragwing which will need the engine torn down for inspection and the prop will be no good. It's at ASOD in Lancaster, TX.

This 170 was landed hard and went up on its nose lightly. It hit hard enough to bend the cabin steps, curled the prop before it nosed over and dented the nose bowl. It did not go over on its back. The only visible damage is the prop, nose bowl, cabin steps. Otherwise it actually looks good. The wings are metallized and look good, no pop rivits or cherry max. Light skin corrosion under the wing that should clean up.

25gal has in each wing

The main gear may be sprung, hard to tell. They are the old style gear with two holes drilled thru the middle of the gear to attach the brake line holders.

The engine is a C145, not a Lycoming.
