Rib Rudder Assembly - #1 Rudder

Post by azmuth1 »

My '49 170a has a corrosion problem discovered by my A&P at annual. He installed a needed rudder bellcrank. He noticed two rivits came loose. Investigation led him to find beaded or sandy corrosion where the reinforcement bar meets the rib. He is looking for a 0533000-12 Rib Assembly - #1 rudder; 533000-6 rib- #1 rudder; 0533000-8 Reinforcement - #1 rudder rib. He has a some emails and calls out to suppliers.
I haven't seen the problem area...just word of mouth of the problem he found.

Any suggestions to suppliers for these parts?

Keep 'em flying,

Azmuth

Air Repair, Inc., Cleveland, MS.
Ask for Pete Jones, let him know you were sent by the Assocn, and have your Member
number handy....hes good about a discount for us...(tho don't expect the same for a direct
call from a repair shop....thats where the shop mark up comes from.
