hi I am wondering if your can help me out with some info regarding the lower fuel bowel/strainer where they all glass or some steel/aluminum? thanks

There is a size of copper union that fits perfectly

Safariair... I'm not certain the question in your mind is the same one in mine. I am thinking of the bottom piece of the gascolator assembly...which is aluminum. Coupled with the aluminum top piece of the gascolator... they hold a glass cylinder between them, which contains the fuel screen. This is the original type. Here's a pic: (Only later Cessna's had all-metal gascolators.)

Image George, is that gaden hose hooked up to your gascolater? Oh well at least it is green.

thanks for the info. any ideas as where i can purchase just the glass? good to see there is a few humorest out thairrrrrrrrrr regarding the type O. proves that one should not be typing on limited sleep. thanks agian :oops:

Wondering if you asked about 170 gasolators always being glass because you've seen one for sale that is suppose to be from a 170 but it has an aluminum body?

The glass seems to be getting hard to find. Salvage yards and tractor parts might prove fruitful.

Steves Aircraft has an STC for an aluminum body gasolator for the 170A and B and he has one for the Cessna 120/140 which is the same as the one found on the '48 but it is not approved to use on the '48.
