Has anyone done the service kit sk70a52-4 which is to change from the old box type tailwheel bracket to the B model finger type bracket on rag wing and A models.Specificaly did you document this change on 337 for major alteration, or just a log book entry. Thanks for the help. nick

In my opinion, this repair is a major repair and requires a Form 337. It does NOT require field approval, only the completion and submission of the form. (This repair is already approved via the Cessna Service Kit letter.)

Major Repairs require a Form 337 submission to the FAA.
FAR 43, Appdx A, (b) (1) describe Major Repairs.
"Repairs to the ... airframe...involving the strengthening, reinforcing, splicing, and manufacturing of primary structural members or their replacement ...by fabrication or riveting... are airframe major repairs."
Subparagraphs (xvi) (xvii) and (xviii) specifically identify the landing gear brace, axles, and wheels as being in that category. Even if it did not, the tailwheel attach bracket is primary structure.

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
