For a minute there I thought you might be refitting these to your airplane to gain back some originality points. Or have I uncovered a thinly veiled plan to conceal this effort.

George,

I have two Goodyear discs, but I doubt they are what the other member is looking for. Mine are for the crosswind landing gear that came on my airplane. You could almost drop a "standard" disc through the one for the crosswind gear.

The last thing I would want on my airplane (after cross-wind gear) would be Goodyear brakes!

This ad was placed for another member who is computer-challenged.

(For those of you with Goodyear brakes.... conversion to Clevelands is one of the recommended modifications, not only for operational/repair costs, but for dependability and safety. Goodyear pucks are notorious for wearing unevenly into a wedge-shape which can then "jam" locking up a wheel and leading to a ground-loop.)

That's why the discs have been in my box-o-junk along with the rest of the 20-plus lb per side crosswind mechanism for over 25 years!

George,
I have a set that I think are in usable condition. They were removed from my plane and replaced with Clevelands. Let me know if I can help. Andy George 740 973 7041

Please be advised that Tim Earl has bought out Kondor Aviation in Jackson CA, after the demise of the previous owner. He says he has found a number of Goodyear Brake parts in the stuff left behind. Anyone interested in same is advised to call him at 209-257-1044. In the process of clearing stuff out of the hangar, these parts will probably be pretty cheap before they go to the scrap yard.

I remembered that someone has been looking for Goodyear Brake parts and I just wanted to let you know that I found parts list and exploded views for Goodyear Airplane Wheels and Brakes from 1956 in with my project paperwork. If anyone needs this information, I will be happy to make copies for the assemblies that you are interested in viewing.
If the association would like to have this booklet for later useage, I will be more than happy to mail it. I am positive that I will convert to Clevelands.

As the proud new owner of a 170A with handsome crosswind gear that requires Goodyear Brakes, keep me in mind for any parts you may remove that are still serviceable.

And if this documentation you have is more than what is in the IPC or more servicing info than in the Cessna Service Manual, I'd appreciate a copy. Wondering it scanning it wouldn't be easier than copying.

Thanks

Bruce:
I will see what I can scan. First I will need to look at the IPC and pull the part numbers to make sure I scan the right ones. Give me some time. When I pull the old brakes, I will put your name on them. Looking at the logs last night, it appears that some brake work was completed just before it when into to storage for 21 years so there might be some good parts.
