Post by c170b53 »

Time to predict next year, (vacation bid time at work) What are the convention dates for New York. Seem to remember an email somewhere with details but now I can't put my mouse on it.

It would be interesting what modes of transportation members are planning to use going to Penn Yan.

“SNOWMOBILE”, will it be snowing there ? We will be coming from one extreme to another . It’s about 115deg here and blowing around 35 mph at the moment . We have had some rain lately but quickly evaporates . Most of the fires have been extinguished here in Australia but saying that it’s only the start of the season. We shall be flying commercial to New York from Australia and hopefully by car from New York to the convention . So if it’s snowing that could be a different equation . So will it be snowing ?

No. It will be beautiful fall weather. Temperatures in the 70's (mid 20's C for those down under). A great time to visit upstate NY.

Snow won't begun until say mid December, at the earliest. We've had a lot less snow in the last few years. Except for the higher areas like in the Adirondacks, there hasn't been much opportunity for snowmobiling. Although it's in the 20's F this week, It was in the 50's about a week ago and one day got up to about 60.

It will be a beautiful drive from NYC to Pen Yan in October. I'll be making a similar drive from Pennsylvania. If we are lucky we will catch the trees at the optimum time to view the color change for winter.

After having to drive to the last two conventions due to weather, I certainly hope to fly to this one!
