I just did a quick search; I suspect they might just "drop in" because they are listed as the same volume so nothing gained, back to my brain storming !!!!

I was a bit surprise to find that the L-19 tanks are so small given the original role it was crafted for !!

L-19's are based on a 170 but there are a LOT of differences. I wouldn't be surprised if the wings had some big differences too.

YEah... and you could "drop" them during takeoff to cure that performance issue you mentioned!

Besides the flaps L-19 wings will bolt on an A or B. As George and others remember, I once had a 170 with L-19 wings. No I did not have Le19 flaps but B model flaps fit into the wing.

As we've all ready determined in previous post there is no fuel advantage the L-19 tanks are the same volume so nothing in it but legal mombo-jumbo

No fuel advantage but you get to carry rockets. That's gotta count for something.

I think that as former Army rotorhead that Bruce had authorization for rockets. (But he probably only carried GREEN.)

Thanks. Continental IO-360, Sportsman STOL and as light as I can reasonably make it. Any luck and she will fly next year.

No rockets tho.

What do you mean, it will BE a rocket!

Any projection on weight?

I don't know how to predict the weight but she's bare metal, the interior is very minimalist except for the front seats and door panels (we're not savages).

I'll pick up some weight with the 180 legs and STOL cuff tho.
And the bigger fuel tanks to feed that motor..
The 80" constant speed prop isn't getting any lighter either...

I guess she wont be as light as leaving the factory but we're making it a point not not add anything that isn't needed. You can't do much more without some serious creativity and carbon fiber.

65hp increase makes up for a lot of extras! And light batteries are really progressing. The Sportsman is fantastic, I have it on my 180, you’ll love it.
