As Yogi Berra said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it!" Looks like you did.

I've got the knife.......

Front tire must have kicked it up just right, and the full length of the blade cut straight in. The tab at the root end penetrated the carcass.

I was right in front of a Discount Tire, so eased into their parking lot.
They didn't carry this brand of tire, so I decided to put my spare on.
They actually told me they would call the sheriff and have me arrested if I put my spare on in their parking lot! I then tried to get them to put my spare on, buy they said it was too many years old, so would be breaking the law!

I was tempted to let them call the sheriff, but I was heading for a long range buffalo rifle match, and had two rifles and about 1000 cartridges, all of which was on top of the spare tire.

So I eased over to Menards parking lot and put my spare tire on.....

I really have had great experiences with Discount Tire and this really surprises me. I hope you contacted the store mgr with a complaint. They seem to seek feedback often and my smallest complaints have rec'd overwhelmingly generous responses from them. (When they misunderstood my instructions through my wife, they disposed of an old spare I intended to keep for a ranch-trailer. Ordinary feedback online resulted in a phone call from a mgr, and a NEW tire of the same size was shipped direct to me.)

Which store?

Warsaw, Indiana
No, I did not pursue the matter. Figured I had wasted enough of my time at their store!

Since I was only 30 miles into the 1400 mile drive to Montana, after putting my spare on I drove back to my local tire store. They worked me right in and got me on my way.
