British Airways Concorde Taildragger

Post by MoonlightVFR »

Watch the Concorde land at Kia Tek airport Hong Kong. 1996

Notice tail low approach and view the auxillary tiny tiny tailwheel at obvious end of fuselage.

see link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s7Q-Z2PGQw

hopefully you will hear additional audio of take off / conversation w video.

I remember she was small and narrow. Wing fuel leaks the norm. Don't remember the little wheels, likely tail strike protection adopted in the 767 and 777, and now an option (possibly as I've worked on a new one that didn't have it)on the newer 777.
Last one I saw was on the ramp by the (edited) "Cathedral ") in LHR, maybe it's still there.
