The part number of an aileron end rod in the parts manual is FM34-14. There are many versions (such as FM34-14M), but I cannot find the correct end rod for my C170B. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Mike,
I'm not sure where you found that part number. In my C-170B IPC fig. 5-10 and fig. 10-10 it calls for p/n F34-14. Often the 1948 C-170 IPC is more descriptive than later IPC's as in this case where it says that these rod ends are "Heim F34-14". The Parts Catalog Revision Sheet "P108-12 Temporary Revision Number 1" dated 27 January 1996 changes this to p/n S1819-3 but only for the right aileron. Still gotta use F34-14 on the left aileron!
I think, but don't know for certain, that Heim F34-14M would work. This crosses to Aurora GMW-3M-470 for $16.71 at McFarlane.

Gary, Thanks, it was late last night, and I'm not sure where I got the "FM"!

Re: Aileron end rod part number
My memory tells me that the M suffix indicates that it is magnetic particle inspected (which is not a bad thing for this application).
But I don't have a written reference right now to back my memory up......
