Sounds like we need to start planning a fly-in to Red's Horse Ranch for 2006....I see on the charts that they list Red's as a private strip, but it does belong to the USFS....there is a private strip a short 1/2 mile down river at the Minam Lodge....So beware....Minam Lodge does offer up good breakf...

Yes Red's is still open to the public, the USFS has had it for at least the last 6-8 years. I spent allot of last fall going in and out of Red's and it's a great place to visit.... It would be to wet, if not snowy to go in there now...but we're loosing it fast now....I think we ought to put together...

:D It's been awhile, but the weather finally let us go flying yesterday. I earlier had replaced both O-rings and used DC-4 on them. Had some "peanut butter" in the tube, but got it cleaned out. It's like having a new primer in the plane. My primer, like Scott's, had a nut (11/16") too...

Thanks for your Responses

Thanks for the information gentlemen, I'll get the hanger heated up the next few days and I'll let you know how things go with the primer...One other thing that I've noticed this winter is that my tack jumps 100-150 RPMs the first 10-15 minutes after I start it up, but settles down after that time.....

Hard to Pull Fuel Primer (Primer rebuild or overhaul)

This may have been a past topic, but if it was I couldn't find it. It's winter here in NE Oregon and and we're finally beginning to have a "normal" winter with temps in and around zero (I know that's a warming trend for you all up in AK). The last few flights in this colder weather I have ...
