Gentlemen,
Thanks for all of your efforts. I have what I need to move on with the approval process.

Re: Bartone / Benham Exhuast Pics
Hello Everyone, I'm almost done with my engine overhaul and wanted to add the Bartone tail pipes during the engine installation. Pat Bartone is reluctant to sell me the pipes due to the difficulties of obtaining a field approval these days. I am pressing on with the field approval but could use a co...

Re: Connecting rod bolts
Hi, The 655959 bolt is not interchangeable with the 530213 bolt according to TCM service bulletin SB00-3A. If you have the old part number rod (530184 identified by forging number 530186), you need to use bolt part number 530213 with p/n 24804 or p/n 626140 nut and 639292 cotter pin. The 655959 bolt...

Re: curiouse about an 0-320
There is one on the airport here. The guy use to run it on floats but now the tires just go flat. When i was looking at buying it the performance was stated to be WAY better then a stock 170 and not as good as the 360. haha I never got a chance to fly it. It is not STCd but field approved. mod cess...

Re: Beware of new Continental O-300 crankshafts
Well Richard,
After doing a little part number cross refernce research, it appears that the parts list that I posted above shows the part numbers that you probably have. The picture must have been reused from the original parts catalog. Sorry for the false alarm.

Re: Beware of new Continental O-300 crankshafts
Hi Richard, In an effort not to hijack my own want ad, I am resurrecting this thread. I work for a smaller cargo airline and we operate barons, navajos, caravans and lear 35's. We do our own piston engine overhauls. I was aware of this thread before but couldn't offer anymore than you already had po...

Re: Battery Power Receptacle
Hi Ole Pokey,
The external power plug was indeed an option for our airplanes (not sure about the 170's). See figure 88 of the Cessna parts catalog P257-12 for our airplanes. If you don't have one, I can try to post the pages later or at least email them to you.

Hi,
That would be TCM Service Bulletin M76-4. Sorry I don't have a copy to post.

Re: Bicycles in a 170
I just ordered two folding bikes from the following:
http://www.vilanobikes.com/foldingbikes.html
I haven't received them yet but I suspect that they'll work just fine for the price. I'll report back when I get them.

Re: What is the best STOL Kit ?
Hi, I put VG's on my 1958 tailwheel 172 and wish I had my money back. I too was intrigued by the difference that I had seen first hand on a Super Cub but the difference they make on the Cessna wing is just not worth it in my opinion. They may be better on a Cessna wing with a STOL kit but I don't kn...

Re: Bendix S6LN magneto Rotor replacement
Hi,
That's a pretty old issue. The current AD number is 94-01-03 (R1 I think). The TCM/ Bendix service bulletin is MSB644. I hope you find that this has already been taken care of.

Howdy, I put one of those drain valves in my 172 about a year ago. I think it is a worthwhile addition. I bought the one that is STC'd from C-mods Inc. 919-471-9492. http://www.c-mods.com It was $30.00 for the valve and STC delivered to my door. They offered a choice between a flush style valve or o...

Our Super Cubs use that propeller with the 180 HP Penn-Yan STC. It kills the cruise speed (90 MPH @ 2500) but they have awesome climb ability and make fabulous tow planes. There are no RPM restrictions and I've never heard of any failures. I think the hub of this propeller is bigger than the Borer p...
