Re: gear and tires
Alfalfa fields are the ruffest thanks to the rodents. I know there is a lot of farm equipment in and around De Lacs. So get some help. Don't work the ground up because it will get lumpy. But some one there must have a little box grader you could use or rent to knock down the badger holes. Then, with...

Re: MT Propeller
No, they are doing the engineering and calculating the feasibility of an STC for the C145 and 0-300. He told me the 170, 170A and 170B would be included.

MT Propeller
Any one call Robert Vulsanovic about a possible STC for an electrically controlled MT prop for the C145 and 0-300? Well I did. He has an ad in the 4th Qtr 170 news and the December fly paper. Not sure why he didn't post it here. They are claiming 12 to 13% improvement in take off, climb, HP, and thr...

Maybe should consider using a soft field landing technique
It'll wash off easiest when still fresh

Re: Tie Downs
Thanks Steve, never considered buying them from a trapping supply store. But, maybe found a little better ancor from Minnesota Trapline Products. http://www.minntrapprod.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=509_293_503 I think these will hold better because they are finned and they are removable. They are 3....

Re: Tie Downs
Thanks guys, Without a jack hammer, I assume most anything is hard to hammer into rocky ground. Didn't think about digging them out. I have two locations where I want them permanantly. Besides rocky ground, they look easy to put in for their holding capacity. And besides the 1/2 inch rod and hammer,...

Bill,
Did you find an answer or figure this out the old fashion way by just doing it?
I've been thinking about an 80inch prop also and wondering what it will do for takeoff performance?

Re: Winterization w/ STC'd cowl
I bought the winter front from Spruce about 4 years ago. Its spendy for what you get but is the exact cessna part number fot the 170B. I'm always trying to cram 30hr days into 24 so it was easier to buy than build. I don't know if my planes temp gauge is accurate or not. Measuring the oil or engine ...

Re: Bungee Length
Mark, Ask Troy for a copy of his installation instructions. Put your skis on following his instructions. With your plane held up in its level flight position, as per AEROs instructions. Measure the lengths for your ski rigging. With your actual measurements from your plane, Troy should be able to bu...
