Eric,

Do you have a pic of that "hatchlatch?" I found the other topic about it in this forum, but no pic there either. I'm interested to see what it looks like.

Thanks for posting those. Looks like it turned out pretty slick.

I thought the original post was about the skewer that holds the door open too, and I'm glad I followed it to the bottom. That thing that Matt installed is really cool. One of my pet peeves is people 1) throwing the doors open, and 2) slamming them unnecessarily hard. In either case, this looks like ...

Tailwheel CFI needed - Southern Oregon

I need to do my 5 hrs dual for the insurance requirements in my 170. I'm already tailwheel endorsed, but a relatively low time pilot, so just need somebody to put some time in with me on the 170 and put their John Handcock in my logbook. Anybody know a qualifying CFI in the Grants Pass/Medford/Ashla...

Ha! Great story. Just when I was wondering how many guys fly hard IFR with air driven gyros, you write this. Good read, thanks.

I could go look this up but I'd like to hear what the 170 guys have to say about it... What is required for an IFR certified panel and is it enforced in any way?

Has anyone used the gust lock pictured in the Univair 170 parts catalog? It's a claw-looking device that neutralizes the rudders and the yoke by wedging itself in place. I can't find it on the Univair website. Not sure if they even still make it. Some more info on this here: http://www.cessna170.org...

The latest internet explorer is just an attractive spyware magnet. Use Mozilla Firefox. It's free, more secure, and has cool features like tabbed browsing. It also maintains HTML markup standards better, which may fix the problem you're having. It runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Google it. I just b...

Craig,

Where did you find that gem and where did it spend its life to accumulate so few hours?

As I understand it, the tachometer reads prop rpm, which, at the hub, and any point on the prop, is the same as the engine rpm(non geared engine), so they are essentially the same. Don't confuse that with angular velocity at point x on the prop blade.
