Thank you George for the info. I will make the necessary changes. I will assume that the AR4-1 bearings are correct
as well.

Re: Elevator Fwd Bellcrank Bearing Number
The bearings that are currently installed are the torrington AR4-1's , 2 of them. I was just trying to verify they are correct. Also , when installing the bellcrank, the IPC for the 170B shows the "notch or cutout" facing fwd. When I install it this way, I seem to have limited travel? Also...

Elevator Fwd Bellcrank Bearing Number
In the 170B IPC, fig 67, Item 1 , bellcrank, what are the correct bearings for that item? There are 2 , but I cant seem to find the number for them in the parts list on pg 111. Any help appreciated.

Re: Control Tee Assy
It appears that in the 170B IPC, a KP4 is used. The fwd elevator bellcrank I have also looks like a 170B model as well.
Does anyone know what bearings are used in the fwd elevator bellcrank? I cant seem to find them in the B model breakdown.

Control Tee Assy
In the IPC , figure 26, item 14 , shows a Fafnir KS4 bearing. On my A\C , a 170A, during reassembly I have found a Fafnir KP4 bearing in the same location, which is radial only, not pivoting like the KS4. I am wondering if this was incorrectly replace at one point, or if the KS4 was superseded and m...

Re: Door opening in flight
In regards to the door latch mechanism, what is the purpose of the clevis pin in the IPC Fig 32, item 55?
I am in the process of rebuilding the doors and latches.

Re: electric relay
Looks like a nice update and I am planning to purchase one as well. I went the link on Spruce's site, and was just wondering if the "not for certified aircraft" was anything I should really worry about? I have just re-installed my battery box and and also going to get a solid state regulat...

Re: Rudder Bar Lateral Play
I've installed all new bearing blocks (plastic type). They fit in the original mtg holes . No Binding. After installing return springs, when I force the left fwd tube to its inboard block, the left arm and spring are making contact with the tunnel. Right arm doesnt seem to contact either way. Of cou...

Re: Fwd and lower wing root fairings
Understood. I made a template and believe that the fit is ok in that sense. The "gap" I am now speaking of is in regards to the side of the windshied where it fits in the groove on the vertical post. In the first pic, you can see a small gap where I am speaking of. The second pic shows the...

Re: Fwd and lower wing root fairings
Thank you for the info. I can fabricate what I need from there. One other related question, Upon final fit of the windshield, I have a gap on the left vertical side post at the top. The right side fits all the way in. The windshield is as far fwd as it can be, based on the upper retainer, and the in...

Re: Fwd and lower wing root fairings
I would agree with that. I did not trim any from the leading edge sides. It would seem the concern is have the leading edges match up, and not having a gap between the fairing and the curve of the leading edge of the windshield. If the windshield is slid up or down in its side channel, the width of ...

Re: Fwd and lower wing root fairings
Thanks Bruce. I will keep looking around the parts to see if I can find them. Do you think they may be made out of .025 or .032 2024T-3? I have trimmed and fitted the windshield without the felt installed yet, and I know I am close. Being extra thick(.187) will the windshield still float in the side...

Fwd and lower wing root fairings
It was recommended by LP aeroplastics that I at least pin the wings in place (project 170A)while fitting the new extra thick windshield, in order to avoid any gaps during final assy. Wish I hadn't tossed the old one, as I could have used it as a template. I cannot locate my fairings 0520005, and 052...
