Oil filter weight and balance

I'm just putting together a new equipment list and weight and balance since installing my camera port and noticed that an entry wasn't made for the F&M CO-300 oil filter that I installed last year. Has anyone figured this one out including oil? It lists it as 3 lbs. 5 oz. without oil. Was wonder...

Does anybody know if there is an STC for a toilet seat in one of those folding jump seats?

Wow Eric, that just gave me an idea for my new camera port that I installed. When I through the empties out the window I always wind up with sticky residue on the horizontal. And on those long legs I could trim nose down, crawl into the back (next to the cooler) and WOOLAH! a relief hole...

Speaking of camera provisions George, I just completed the installation of the camera port that used to be in your plane before you acquired it. My IA just signed it off yesterday  ( with all the updated W&B calculations for both applications by the way). I'll send you some pics of the inst...

Hi Collin,

A little of topic but seeing your name reminded me that I was going to send you some paperwork on the oil filter (seen you at the Flying "M"). Do you still need it? Let me know. Joe from Longview.

Thanks Mike but thanks to the article that George Horn had in the last 170 quarterly I found all the pieces that I need. The guy that George bought his plane from had removed the Cessna optional port that was installed. George gave me his number and he had sold it to John Benham and he in turn sold ...

One of the things I've also got out of the selector quick drain is sediment that otherwise would eventually would make it's way up the system just to add to what has already collected collected at the gasculator. I always drain at the selector drain before the gasculator to catch it before it could ...

I probably should have waited for the STC for the quick drain at the fuel selector location but when your engine starts coughing at 500' on takeoff with nothing but trees below I'll take my chances with getting caught.

Speaking of fuel drains, while I was putting new o-rings in my fuel selector valve a few years ago I removed the plug in the bottom of it and installed a quick drain. I don't know why they didn't do it in the first place since this is the lowest point in the fuel system on a taildragger.

I wound up with the same problem as N3474C when I ordered all new risers several years ago. I didn't get a curved riser that fit #1 cylinder so I cut the new flange off from the one that they sent me and welded it onto my old riser. Can't remember where I bought them.

Haven't purchased any of the seats yet. I like the idea of being able to change configurations while away from home, otherwise the removable seats would be the way to go. Thanks for the info. Yes, the BAS seats are STC'd for the 170 and Atlee Dodge claims that he is in the process but I'm not to sur...

Hi Eric, I tried to get the Attlee Dodge seats past my local FSDO and it was a No-Go (Hillsboro...they have a reputation for no-go's). I flew into Swanson's strip and looked at the BAS ( read expensive) seats. I also visited Atlee Dodge while at the Anchorage convention and looked at his. What did y...

My '53 B model Has zinc chromate applied between floorboards and outer fuselage skins and everywhere between the spinner and tailwheel. Am I one of the lucky ones that received the corrosion proofing options or did all '53 models get this treatment? It's applied so thoroughly that I'm sure it was ap...

I've got an 80 inch, 43 pitch prop on my B model. Only cruises at about 105-108 mph at 2450 but sure does climb good. Best rate of climb speed at full throttle sees 2700 rpm/max output.
