Re: Reinstalling pushrods
HA- ....and if you do manage to pull it out this type can be reassembled cocked slightly which will lead to breakage and mental anguish. Are you referring to the push rod socket becoming cocked in the tappet body? Yes that is a problem. If the socket does become cocked in the tappet body it will sha...

Re: Reinstalling pushrods
Guys keep track of where the push rod comes from so when it comes to re assembly they do not have to check the valve clearance. If they do check the clearance then everything should be ok. This is assuming nothing changed. Here is the problem. 1. You may have some oversize push rods mixed in with th...

Light weight firewall battery and box STC
I have seen a few of these on 180-185 but did realize they had it approved on 170 A&B now. Has anyone installed one yet on their fun 70? Looks like STC SA02333AK-D was issued back in January.

Re: Vacuum system starving
VSI, altimeter, airspeed indicator are not part of a vacume system. They have nothing to do with your venturi system.

Re: Fastest 170 in the fleet!
Azpilot- WOW I love that airplane. Is it still in experimental category? Any chance of it ever becoming a standard category airplane? Is that a manual waste gate control next to the cowl flap lever? How big are your fuel tanks? Do you have enough rudder on takeoff? COOL!

Re: wing fuel drain threads stripped!
Helicoil it. You do not need to use any sealent, jb weld, or anyother glue. The O-Ring on the valve seats agains the chamfer around the base of the tank pipe. (Make sense?) It should be 7/16" -20 NF threads if you are using the standard CAV-170 valve.

Re: curiouse about an 0-320
There is one on the airport here. The guy use to run it on floats but now the tires just go flat. When i was looking at buying it the performance was stated to be WAY better then a stock 170 and not as good as the 360. haha I never got a chance to fly it. It is not STCd but field approved.

Atlee Dodge sells new ones as well. They go for 350-400$ powder coated white.
Some guys remove them. Weld a small fillet plate on the inside of the bend. No more problems after that.

Re: Rear Seat Removal
Here we go again... it's been said before, but I'll do it yet again: Pull out the TCDS. READ the DESCRIPTION of the airplane, where on page 2 it states: "No. of Seats 4 (2 at +36), (2 at +70)" It doesn't get any plainer than that. Well i changed my mind. I am even worried about my front s...
