170 Literature
A good friend of mine was cleaning out some of his "junk", and gave me some things he thought I'd like. He was an avid pilot, aircraft owner and motorcyclist. In the past he has owned several airplanes including a Maule and a Great Lakes. He also owned a motorcycle/bicycle shop for many ye...

Yep, lots of things radioactive that we don't think of. It's our everyday stuff, so, I don't worry about it. We're made to tolerate a certain amount.

Re: Eclipse Day Totality Path C170
Jamie donned one of my spare welding helmets and reclined in the front yard in a zero-gravity chair, while the dog was excited to have us spend time with her out in the front yard. I personally experienced the drop in temperature by standing beneath the pear tree, where the temperature remained low...

Re: Taylorcraft Model 15
Interesting, Bruce. I didn't know how many were still flying. I know my Dad looked into these before he bought the 170. His first plane was a T-Craft, about a 1938 or 39. Very pretty - yellow and black with pants and strut fairings. Chrome grills and other parts as the first owner owned a plating sh...

Re: Members 170 blown over by jet
On one of my student cross countries I was going to Toledo Express. My instructor gave me a firm lecture about taxiing behind jets. The 747 had just come out, and, wouldn't you know it, there was one there. I gave it a HUGE berth! I don't think it was even running - just parked.

Re: BasicMed / Medical reform is here.
Took my BasicMed Examination this morning, completed my Self-Assesment Certificate this afternoon, and, If I'm correct, I'm good to go! I think this was easier, cheaper & less stressful than my previous visits to my AME (he can fully retire now!). Additionally, I only have to do this every four ...

Re: McCauley prop question
I put mine on half way out. Not sure if that's where they were, but they look good. The old ones were long gone. They are upright on the right side (of the plane - down blade and inverted on the left side - up blade).
