The 170 is a VERY SAFE airplane. It will just barely kill you!

One of the aviation magazines, can't remember which one, maybe Private Pilot or Flying, back about 8 or 10 years ago ran a feature article on a 170 and it had a 3 bladed prop. It was a long time ago, but it seems like it looked like MayflyPFG's plane. The article was very favorable to 170's and thei...

That's GREAT Richard. Very happy that you are on top of that. I assume Ina is doing the same, hope so.

Thanks guys for clearing up my mistake on medical terms. A colonoscopy is the way to go and it is painless. You wouldn't want your mother-in-law operating the controls though!

One option to consider is a broker who knows 170's. If you are short on time, and or experience, a broker that you trust can do all of the leg work for you. They also seem to be able to find airplanes for sale in out of way places that the normal buyer would never know about. Good luck on your searc...

You might shave some off of your door gasket where ever it might be too thick.

Joe- I had lunch with Bob Snowden today, he said to say hi. THANKS Richard! Say Hi back for me. Frank, Jerry, and I were talking about Bob and his family today at lunch. Dear 170 friends, if you have not had a sigmoidoscopy ( had your colon checked ) PLEASE do! Bad things happen in life, and this e...

Two or three years ago, maybe more, the guy that runs the Hamilton, TX airport said he takes our low back seats and adds metal to make them a tall back, like the modern seats. He showed me an example airplane that he had done, it looked very nice and comfortable.

Yep. So does the $4.95 wristwatch from WalMart. (But it doesn't look good in the panel with all that duct tape.) Yep, Joe.... Looks like you and I did OK. (Course, it's possible that they run slow in red planes and fast in green ones.) Isn't that the truth! $120 was a bargain at todays price...

Ha Ha! Thinking of George flying a Hawker into Leakey, ("... what the heck, let's take the Hawker, what's a few hundred gallons of gas ...") and then down the valley for some sight seeing some how reminded of the C______ Greaser story. I searched and could not find it. Must have been on th...

Was wondering about the 195 in that kind of situation. That's very interesting. I can't wait to get down there and have Bob demonstrate either in his 180, or my plane how to handle that. He was describing how on takeoff he keeps his elevator neutral for less drag, and flaps neutral for less drag unt...

Not too smart! It was so funny with the really small picture, you can hardly see the clock, I tore up my bedroom trying to find the info that came with the clock. Now it's late at night and I have to put all of the log books back up! I still feel grateful that you gave me that info George. I really ...

Are you going to hot-wire it? When I replaced my clock I purchased a U.S. Navy contract overhauled unit which has been a treasured item in my panel. It has a push-button start/stop, third-hand timer at the 2 o'clock position I had to drill a hole for in the false-panel for the pushbutton. This wind...

Bob was very sincere in his compliments. He made many of them. When I was reading the Bob Hoover book I kept wondering throughout the book how Bob would campare to Bob Hoover's talents. Bob is a living legend here in the Grand Prairie area, and other areas too. No, didn't fly down there but Bob and ...
