Re: 170B float drawings

Bruce, You know that Cessna is in somewhat of a corner as the TCDS contains float approval and the IPC contains part references. How they can claim that it as proprietary information stumps me. I do know if you go to buy it from them they ding you $350.00 or so. Keep up the good work and do share th...

Re: 8.50x 6 tires

What I glean from this letter is if one references this letter and includes a copy when sending it to OK city (337 copy) you should be good to go. Or maybe log book entry referencing the letter. Keep in mind you must have previously installed STC'd Clevelands and associated 337 filed/log book entry....

Re: Tailwheel Lifespan

Sounds to me that the origin of the tire and tube could be an issue. Last time I was shopping for one they offered me a "Made in China" set. I declined.

I would certainly include that AD in my inspection process. Note the way the cotter pin is bent to prevent vibration and loosening.

Re: Eliminating fuel pumps

I thought of this thread as I was waiting to take off yesterday. It was a bit warm and I was taking off after a half-hour fuel stop. The fuel pressure normally indicates a solid 6 psi, but idling in the runup area I saw it occasionally dropping into the 3 psi range, then back up to 5. A few vapor b...

Re: 180 Gear vs Lady Legs

As I understand it "Lady Legs" were developed as a "softer" gear to improve landing outcomes. The 180/185 legs are thicker (Stiffer) they accommodate heavier engines in the 170's however being thicker (IF) "P" Ponk kit is installed before hand they (The new legs) won't ...
