Re: Best Three Mods

I like all of the things I've done, can't say I like one over the other and can't justify any of them. Cessna did a pretty good job when they built the plane. You need to go out and fly your new t...

Since you have been down the restoration road before you know you can always buy it cheaper than building it yourself. With that being said it will be a very rewarding task if you finish it. If they gave you the plane, you are looking at @50 grand ( I know I'm in the middle of the same project) some...

Re: You may live in Alaska...
We are on the same page. I spend 6 months out of the year putting up with wacka doodle californians in snoby wine country with their views on gun ownership and hunting and liberal views in general. The other half is on the ranch in west central Idaho. I guess I'm spring loaded to the what I perceive...

You might try Air Repair in Cleveland MS. They rebuild L-19s, they had top windows, they are on the net.

Re: Cessna Seat Restraint
Had mine done in June of this year I have flown 40 mins with this mod (paint shop to my hangar to start the restoration) I didn't even know it was there couldn't see it just the belt attached to the floor. It is a good thing to have if the seat heads for the baggage area and it's free.

I must be looking at the wrong viewing profile I don't show a # and neither do you. I am also one with shame since I'm a holder of a rotorcraft-helicopter and instrument helicopter .

Are you sure they are not a member? I was able to PM them and got a reply, and their bio shows them joining on the 5th. I've all ways believed rotor heads need a little slack.

Re: What To Look For When Buying a 170B
180 legs are a nice addition but aren't necessary, if you are flying off pavement the 1st gen or lady legs are fine, dirt and gravel or rough strips 180 gear is nice, but there are a lot of other items you might want, and those are to many to list. You can find some good airplanes out there with out...

Gary the paint match was from the last paint job in 1959. I don't know if it was the exact Serge Blue but it was a computer match. Thanks
