Re: Low RPM's during run up/take off

Joe, by the STC on the 0-300-D the 8040 prop has a static of 2380 to 2480. (seaplane) No data on the 43. 43 was not approved by Cessna- whoever got it approved should have the data with it. Ron

Re: O-300-A with 6 bolt crank

Bruce/Simon, what Bruce just said is not exactly right. The 0-300-B had the prop adjustment deal on it and the C does not. I'd have to go thru notes but if you lock the adjustment out you'd be legal. The E engine has controls (if I remember right) for a variable pitch control not like the B engine b...

Re: Stuck Door Latch

David, good question but as I did on the engine change using Cessna's data that Cessna changed the 172 from the O-300-A to the O-300-C,D, & E Series engines with the 6 bolt prop. It was logical that it would be the same on the 170. ( The FAA could not argue the point). I installed the latches on...

Re: Stuck Door Latch

Hey all, haven't been on in awhile, My 2 cents--you can have more than 1 STC to cover the same thing. Richard/Bruce make a list of parts and process and apply for an STC in the your name and then turn it over to the Assn.(if you want). While doing some work on The engine STC I was told (by FAA) they...

Re: New sumps

Tom, are they saying for sure the sump will fit and does it include milling the gasket areas for block and accessory case and intake tubes--as well as bolt holes and threads? Then 5k is not bad if this is a complete ready to go sump-mold?? What would be the price to mold a sump and dress it for a re...

Re: True cost estimate of Yellow Tagged engine case and cran

So, you are looking at 9.5K for the crank. It says exchange core charge. If yours is good use it--why exchange a good core. if it is not good there is a core-- correct? The crank is good for all 0-300 series you just have to stamp you case converted to a "c or d" engine depending if you us...

Re: The highest numbered hour 170

well I said, I think--I'll go back and look at the 170 news from that convention and see if there are any records of what Bud actually said maybe it was 16000 hours and 20 engines?? I agree with Miles mine is in diapers too. Then at the Blakesburg convention, some guy flew in and his had 700 plus a ...
