Yeah I just keep mine in the right hand corner of the windshield on top of the panel. One thing to keep in mind is it needs to be 12 inches away from other GPS devices.

The back seat was out when I bought the plane, I didn't want to put it back in anyways because I don't feel like taking more than one passenger at a time. A re-paint is in the future, I had white and red in the original 53' trim in mind. If you can prove green is faster I might change my mind
