Re: Another question to the mechanic guys
[quote="SUNDBY"]I am in the long process of a complete restoration of my B model. I am about to plumb/install the pitot/static system. The question is, can I, should I, consider using newer technology nylon tubing inleu of using aluminum lines. My IA questions if that is legal?[/quote=&quo...

Re: Question for the Mechanics
What were the last two readings on those cylinders? I would be more inclinded to put those cylinders on a 10-20-30 hour test cycle to see what they do before I would tear down an engine. What has the "trend" of all the cylinders been doing?

Under the LH Topics icon
I see that sometimes the circle thingy with what looks like an email in it under the "topics" header on the LH side, some are scrolling, why is that? When you place the mouse on it, it says"No New Posts", Even though I have read them it still scrolls.
Just wondering....

I can lift the tail under heavy braking with mine, the tail wheel scale weight is 160 pounds, so you should be fine.

Nice mods, You will love the baggage door, I installed mine back in 1997, it should have been there from Cessna.

Re: Maintenance Costs
Yep, .... the costs are real, I love the plane, love flying, it is just the cost of flying. I guess that it is sorta like Obama blowing $650 million (so far) to get elected to a job that pays $400K a year........ one big difference though.... It is MY money that I am spending on my plane...... not t...

Re: Maintenance Costs
Renting vs Owning There is only one reason to own an airplane, "I want one, I happen to be able to afford one, so therefor I have one", other than those reasons don't try to justify it as "I am saving money over renting", the costs of ownership can not be factored into the reason...

Re: Mag Troubles Take 2
I replace mine every 2 years, at a total of $200.00, it is not worth my time or safety to regap them, damn cheap insurance I say, and no I do not Ebay them, they are tossed out. I use the Autolite brand.

Re: Mag Troubles
If "single" mag on start up IS not a valid test....How the hell do you start a Piper Cherokee with a Lyc. 150/160 engine, which by the manual states, START with left mag ON ONLY, switch to both upon start? I agree that you can turn off a running engine with the mag switch as a check, howev...
