Re: Fuel Quality

I'm with you Frank. In my areas it all comes from the same bulk distribution facility or pipeline. As long as I get it from a place that does a lot of business so I know the fuel is fresh, I can't tell the difference. A friend of mine, now retired, was the Exxon distributor. He also had a number of ...

Expert heavy-equipment operator.....

Very interesting and crazy. One hose bust and he would be a gonner. I get uptight enough seeing a backhoe climb on top of a rail car, and it is doing it to work not show off.

Re: Time for Paint!

I agree with Russ that the best looking paint would be the original paint scheme. If you don't want polished aluminum, still go original with either white or silver where it was originally polished aluminum. Just my opinion.

George,

Sorry to hear about your dog. I know how you feel. :( This past fall we lost our child cat who lacked one month of being nineteen years old.

Re: Flying to this year's convention

A good stop for those flying to the convention from the southeast is Elk City, OK. We made a overnight stop there while flying to the Tehapachi, CA, convention. The airport has a very friendly manager and a free courtesy car. The town has an excellent Route 66 Museum and historical displays which we...

If you have double puck brakes, I think the 180 backing plates drawing I submitted to the Association will work for you.

Re: met-co-aire tri gear

My 180 had had the tricycle gear installed in the late 1950's with the proper paperwork. The tri gear was removed during a major repair/rebuild after the plane had a major crash in the 1960's but I don't recall any paper work on the removal, it was just repaired/rebuilt to the original conventional ...

Re: Convention Attendance

KG,

I don't know where you are from, but this summer should be a good convention to try for your first, since it should be very cool flying in Colorado.

Re: Convention Attendance

We flew our plane to six conventions, drove our motor home to four conventions, and took the train to one convention.

Convention Attendance

I am just curious as to how many I170A annual Conventions users of this forum have attended in the past. Carolyn and myself have attended eleven and enjoyed each one very much (except the three days I had to spend in the San Diego Hospital) while everyone else was having a great time in San Diego. E...
