Re: help me match these switches
Disregard, they appear to be standard Cessna switches after all. S2160-1.

help me match these switches
Anyone recognize these who can point me to a source? I'm trying to match them for an installation of an additional accessory. Thanks! http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Sxz8liHCkJM/TLNuoC7lBhI/AAAAAAAAF5Y/0VosnzkkQrg/s400/IMG_1236.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Sxz8liHCkJM/TLNuy8mPUpI/AAAAAAAAF5c/Lbb2wRg5Vo0/s400/IMG...

Whelen "Parmetheus PAR36 LED" landing/taxi lights now STC'd
http://www.whelen.com/_AVIATION/a-docs.php Appears that they worked with Floats Alaska LLC to simply update a previous STC (for HID lamps) instead of starting from scratch. Either way, the Parmetheus LED taxi/landing lamps are now available for the 170, 170A and 170B. Some sites such as Spruce have ...

Re: ART Wing Extension or Horton STOL?
not sure how the VG limitations for the C170 are stated, if they aren't giving you speed changes (meaning you had to remark your airspeed indicator) or gross weight increases then likely missing several won't affect the airworthiness. All of our company C340's have VG's for instance, we can lose up...

Just do what I do: Walk as if you are hunchback if you are within 50 yards of the plane. Of course I still smack into the wing strut

I am 6'3" and 240 and '69A is a 170B and I fit fine. A bigger problem I found was my size 13 feet while wearing bunny boots in the winter is finding room on the pedals. You know what they say about big feet.............that's right............big boots. I have a tall set of David Clarks and fr...

Hi Richard,
Apparently you are not alone. Several threads in the past two or three years on the AOPA forums about bad experiences there. No one is perfect, BUT...?

Member and plane missing, but, whew!
Was going to post bad news that member David Akers was missing after a flight in the Palmer area on Thursday, but AP Alaska just updated that he and his passenger have been found alive and (mostly) well. Ah, the fun and challenges of mountain flying. The pair took off in a Cessna 170 from the Palmer...

Why let a few facts stand in the way of a good rant :?: Thing is, if he had bothered to be more correct, his argument would still be compelling...instead of suspect. By the way I still have access to good mogas. No reports of alcohol creeping its way into the interior near me - I occasionally test j...

Re: FCC Bans 121.5 ELTs
http://www.aea.net/governmentaffairs/regulatoryupdates_item.asp?ID=43 The August date listed in the AEA Regulatory Update June 21, is the absolute earliest date the FCC rule could have become effective. Thanks to the efforts of the AOPA, the AEA and other trade associations, the final rule has not b...

Re: FCC Bans 121.5 ELTs
Karl, Like so many 406 ELTs that model ELT will be illegal because it broadcast on 121.5 as well. That is a very cynical - and IMO incorrect - reading of the proposed rule. We can parse words all day but it is fairly obvious what they are trying to do here and grousing about potential collateral ra...

Re: FCC Bans 121.5 ELTs
I sent this to my US Senators and Congressman this afternoon: All 406mhz digital ELT's also broadcast a 121.5mhz AM signal. So most of your letter somewhat obscures the point. UNless, of course, the NPRM is construed to ban all use of the 121.5 frequency in any ELT, rather than the most likely inte...

Re: FCC Bans 121.5 ELTs
Oh! this is a big surprise! I have been to five accidents....three fatal... and the ELT never went off! If you are inside a smoking hole no one cares if the ELT activates least of all you. However, if you are in a survivable accident exceeding 3Gs, you might be more inclined to be glad you have one.
