Re: Baggage door for a CE-170A

Buzzkill82, I wanted to let you know that I have a set of skins that came off the door I bought from white industries that you (anyone)can use a pattern. At the present time they are in Bob Coats possession. Ed Booth used them to install the door on Bob's plane. all you need to do is drill out a few...

Re: 53C back seat

Vern, it is a whole lot easier once you get it out this time to remove the back seats bolts (where it folds) and put in pins with hair pins so you can remove the back before trying to take the entire seat out. Folding the seat and trying to get it out without bumping into the rear window--as Ed said...

Re: Baffling off an O-300D

The baffling for the C172 is not the same as the 170''s. The cowling is wider due to the nose wheel setup. Most of the D engines came from 172's. In the installation of an 0-300-D engine in the 170 the STC states KEEP your baffling. It can be trimmed both sides and the rear has to be trimmed lower a...

Re: Can someone show me the 0-300D stc?

I a mistaken his STC is putting a "A" crank in a "D" engine and using it to drive the angle drive starter and vacuum pump-not the way you want MY opinion is if you put the "D" or "C" crank (which is the same). You are actually converting an"A" engine...

Re: Can someone show me the 0-300D stc?

Heflin, I have a copy of the STC that allows the O-300-D crank in the O-300-A case I can send you. I don't know how to post it here as copy and paste does not work. I don't get here often so send me a email at Ron (N#) at aol dot com. It also uses the angel drive starter and vacuum pump accessory. Y...

Re: Baggage Door Installation

years ago I bought one from white industries salvage and got 1/4 of the fuselage. I had to drill the door and supports from the part and kept the skins that you could cleco to your plane and scribe the cutout and then cut inside that and then trim. I think Ed Booth or Bob Coats has them--Ed may step...

Re: Low RPM's during run up/take off

Joe, 23 sounds about right for a 43 pitch since a 40 is between 2380 and 2480. you are 3/4 the difference. I don't have all my info here and don't know the difference in a normal 51 vs a 55 in rpm's. I would think you are very well in the ball park. Sorry all my info in on the computer at the office...
