Re: Federal Skii Prices

Can anyone who has experience with the subject recommend a fair price for a set of Federal A2500A Skiis. I have experience with AL skis, but only more than someone without any. No experience with Federals. A couple years ago I bought Aero skis from Troy in Brooten MN, brand new with all rigging and...

Well, who doesn't want just a little more time in the plane.
It's still faster than a J3.

Re: Climb prop

Does the Kenmore STC require 180 gear?

Is the Kenmore STC for the 8040, 8042, 8043?

Re: Spruce Aircraft shoulders harness

You won't be dissapointed with the BAS harnesses. But if you buy another brand you will always wonder what the BAS harnesses are like. I ordered mine over the phone, mentioned this forum and the C170 association, and recieved a discount of 5 or 10%. At the time I did post here what the discount was,...

Re: Cessna 170A grass field performance

We have a 54 B model, stock engine, 54 pitch prop, 1280 lbs empty weight. 2200' grass strip with large trees on the south end, 1900' msl. No problems taking off over the trees with one passenger and very little wind. Don't take off in hot air, keep the grass mowed, and decide before it ever happens ...

I talked briefly with the buyer and tried to convince him to join the association. In that conversation he indicated that he intended to restore it. Re: Tornado at Sun-n-Fun

I daydreamed out loud that a duckbill earth anchor, such as these: http://foresightproducts.com/duckprod.html would probably work, but you'd have to carry some cable-cutters to cut them off below grade when you left. Lawnmowers don't like them at all! Instead of duckbills try these http://www.minnt...

Re: Anybody missing winter yet??????

hey Flat Country, you see the bottle of wine next to the pretty lady..........that's what we are missing!!!!!!
Our ice fishing became more work than fishing this year, just too much snow falling almost every day.

But sipping wine actually made winter enjoyable and relaxing 8)

Re: Anybody missing winter yet??????

W. It's been a long perpetual winter up here. Five months of snow pack, and not just a few inches but several feet this year. Too much snow for ski flying. The low pressure systems are almost perpetual with another one coming Saturday evening. 4 to 11 more inches forecast depending on how much falls...

Re: Speed

The 170 isn't going to go faster than 140mph, and that's going downhill.

That's also my point. Squeezing another 5 or 10 kts out of a 170 doesn't compete with a 200kt airplane.

It's just a slow plane and that's part of the fun.

Re: Speed

I,m proud of the old girl but she is damn slow, Hornton stal and flap gap seals have been installed and fresh 0300.115 MPH at 2550 RPM. Open for Ideas. LB How fast do you want it to go? You have 115mph, you want 125, 130, 135? I would like mine to leave the ground in 250 feet. Probably not going to...
