Re: Doors
Here is another reason to fly with the door off, Pure Fun :D http://www.dtlinn.com/bucketdrop.html I currently own this 170 and it is still placarded to fly with the door off. Mainly "remove all loose objects from the cabin". I haven't removed the door and probably won't. Unless the coyote...

Re: 1953 Flight Training video
That's one to keep :D A couple quotes from the beginning that I thought were cool, "He's a qualified flight instructor" QFI? "You can get a license for about $100" "You can become a QFI for about $500" How many of us took lessons in a suit, tie and stylish hat. Bill

Which Engine Cover?
Christmas is coming and I am thinking of putting the two blankets I currently use as a cowl and prop cover to other uses.
Which engine cover are you guys using?
Which one has the best fit and functionality?
Easiest to use?

That's great
I've been thinking about taking our dog, she loves to go to the hangar so what the heck.
Does your dog wear mutt muffs?
Does he/she ride in the front seat or back?

I agree and eliminated the Landis penetration skis, which are not STC'd for the 170 either.IMO, I WOULD NOT use wheel penetration skiis on a 170 due to the lack of horsepower (even with a bigger engine) to drag the extended wheels thru the snow.

Re: Federal 3000 Wheel Skis
I have been researching skis and am close to buying some, here is some of what I have found. First, I have ZERO experience with skis, therefore this info may be worth just that much. I have not totally ruled out wheel penetration skis, but I don't believe my mighty 145hp 0300 is enough for them. In ...

Wing Fairing Rub Strip
I'm going to replace the wing fairing rub strips. They are almost gone right at the windshield.
Part # 0520005-3 and 0520005-7
Is there a good source to buy them, or should I make some out of felt?
My hesitation with felt, even good quality wool, is that it may not stand up to water.

Re: Northern Climate Auto Gas
I ordered a engine cover and a Reiff oil sump heater Since your asking, in Minnesota you should have the full Reiff engine heater, not just the sump heater. I haven't priced a Reiff for a couple years, but if your going to put the engine heater on, put the entire heater on with the cylinder bands. ...
