Re: Is This Wierd or What

The 120/140 site is directly related to the 170 site. For all those who have had a 120/140, you'd understand. There is no evilness here! George is very knowleldgeable with these aircraft and his advise should be taken very seriously. But, being just a previous owner of a 120 for 35 years, it's only ...

Re: Mystery Plane

Yes, 'What a pilot'!!! Granted, it shouldn't have happened, but he put that ship in that little patch diagonally without injury. He ferried it from South America and was "only" a couple miles short... I think at one time or another, we've all just squeaked one in on a prayer. And back then...

Re: Mystery Plane

I love those Connies. They look so elegant! When I lived in Pompano Fla. in the mid 70's, one was parked at Boca Raton. I got to walk thru it. AMAZING :) ! Then, a Connie was on final approach for Fort Lauderdale Executive and ran out of gas! That guy planted it in a 3 acre field, surrounded by hous...

Fuel valve AGAIN!

For all that have the slightest question about your fuel valve... Join the Club! I've just received my quarterly 170 news publication and the article on the fuel valve is worth at least a 3 year subsciption! Many thanks to George and to all the others who have contributed their time and knowledge fo...

Re: Taxi/Ldg light switch

A quick little story about my landing light switch. The damned thing wouldn't shut off sometimes. 8O And it would come on by its self! :? I didn't want to fool around, so I ordered a new switch. When I removed the old one, there was a stainless steel washer trapped and bouncing around inside of the ...

Re: Logging Time

Thanks for all the replies! But it looks like it all boils down to one word... 'INSURANCE' Sometimes, you just can't please everybody. I flew my C-120 for over 30 years without ever dropping a dime on insurance. And that was from a 25 hour student until just recent. What I understand from the...

Logging Time

I need some good advise as to what I should do with building my sons' time in my 172 TW. He's about ready to solo the schools' C172 and soon to be released to the practice area. But I'm trying to save him some $$ and want him to take my plane. We've flown together quite a bit and he handles take off...

Re: Ice landing @7ma2

BL, To answer your first question, I'm really not sure. But if she's willing to be with me, I'm all for it! And that's a Mariner. Home built. Looks like a 2200 float with wings and a Subaru motor. This guy flies the living heck out of that thing and is definetely a 'lake fixture'. Although he flies ...
