Re: Stall Warning Horn - WTB
Final remarks on this fix: My Lift Detector was Safe Flight Part #148 and included the 12V 35W capacitor that serves as a stall warning horn heater (much like pitot heat). Would have worked fine had the 12V 35W capacitor NOT been wired in series back to the buzzer in the cabin. I still don't know wh...

Re: Stall Warning Horn - WTB
Thx again guys. When I applied 12v across the buzzer it worked, so I troubleshot the switch assembly. Cleaned all contacts, bench tested it - all looked good. When we incorporate the capacitor into the circuit, we have major intermittent connection problems. What is the purpose of the 12v 35w capaci...

Stall Warning Horn
Anybody have a serviceable/working stall warning horn that they want to sell/part with? The one in my '52 just clicks now. Thanks all!

All the eBay power supplies listed indicate that they are intermittently faulty.

Re: Anti-Collision Light
By chance does anybody have an AeroFlash 156-0003 strobe box that they're willing to source for me? I verified the box is faulty by swapping tips with the working side. Thx in advance!

PN 537465 Fwd Engine Mount Thru bolt stripped (split topic).
Question regarding thru bolt 537465 (corrected). Attached is a pic of my right front engine mount. While conducting oil leak mitigation my thru bolt snapped under far less than 400 inch pounds of torque. Bolt that snapped is circled. The bolt that was installed on my block does not appear to be the ...

Re: Caked on Oil
Good evening, realize that this post was from eons ago, however, I am presented with the same oil drip on my left side heat/muffler shroud. What was causing your leak and how did you remove the baked on oil? The posts that Miles references are no longer in the C170 Association forum (even when logge...

Re: Seat adjust handle
Thank you both. A straight handle would make the most sense to me. The curved handle puts rotational stress on the weakest portion of the rod (ridge), leading to this. Love this '52 170 and want to keep her perfect, than you for being enablers.

Re: Seat adjust handle
My passenger side seat adjust handle just snapped at the round rib in the handle. I'm not a fabricator, but it sounds like you guys have made your own. Do you actually fabricate the round rib back into your handle? Any fabricators close to Milwaukee that you'd recommend? It's a small world, thought ...

Re: Need Advise Install moulding dorsal Fin
My 0411875-4 - MOLDING (now R581462 CHANNEL) is also splitting and pulling up at the leading edge of the stab. Does anybody have a recommended adhesive remover and adhesive that they use to remove and then re-apply the new moulding/ molding ( spelled incorrectly on purpose for search purposes ). Tha...

Re: Upper Door Hinge, is yours Straight or Bent?
I have a straight hinge on my pilot's side and a bent hinge on my passenger side. The pilot door is more appropriately sealed all the way around and the front edge is very slightly recessed. IMO, the passenger side front edge of the door is too recessed resulting in the aft portion of the door not s...
