anyone recognize this seat belt buckle?

Hello, I am curious if this buckle(photo)was for an early diagonal chest belt, and if they still exist? Or what is the cutout for? I seem to recall that arrangement somewhere in the last 5-6 decades, or perhaps just conflated data. When I was looking into seatbelts about a year ago I checked and the...

Re: professional responsibility question

hi gahorn, you are exactly right. and I know what I need to do.Probably just not looking forward to it. It is easy to get caught up in the negative juice we get from being wronged. Rather be right or rather be happy? Thank you for reminding me. Tim

professional responsibility question

I have a problem with my mechanic. He has taken care of my planes for over 30 years. I took my bonanza in for repair engine, as it would cut off on roll out after landing. We are going into the 4th month with no results. I don't know if it is an age related issue or what is going on, he is seldom at...

engine cowling baffles

Noticed these gaps between rear parts of engine cowling. I would think there should be baffling, both sides same. I understood the better seal, the greater the cooling efficacy across more of the cylinders.(more air =more cooling). I'm in charleston sc so it gets really hot! What kind of baffle do m...

Re: seatbelt question

where do you learn this stuff? so all modification to certificated a/c requires IA approval? If someone goes through the trouble then they have or can apply for stc which they can then sell to all subsequent parties interested in the same type of modification, and benefits to buyer are; inspections ...

seatbelt question

Read a lot about belts and harnesses, attempting to narrowing it down, A/C Spruce has $179 ea. retract sets for 170A&B but not 170 . Only difference I see is factory installed nut plate or anchoring point on overhead, perhaps wing spar? Who would faa deem competent to install such an anchoring d...

Hello, I am greatful to be flying a 170.
