On a cross wind landing it has been said that you shouldn't use 40 degrees of flaps as its a slip approach wing low as to a crab approach. But 30 degrees is acceptable. A lot of 170's have double puck brakes. great on the taxi or cross wind landings. Easy to bring the tail up and or over.

Yea, mine has a Lyc O-360 climes great at these altitudes. The extra fuel lets you go the extra leg or not have to make a gas stop out of necessity.

I went with the Del-Air +30 long range tanks. Love them, gave the plane the range and options to work and fly around the Nevada Sierra Mountains.

My 52 170B has a later 172 cowl I had approved to install when I converted to the Del-Air Lyc O-360 which also has a different nose bowl. I like it

A/C 23-27 look at all the prior field approvals that are now approved to install on your aircraft by a 337 IA and send to OK.

I installed the PMA'd Oddesy battery in the stock battery box and got it field approved with no problem. Works Great
