Re: Delco starter repair vs replace with Skytec

Thank you George for the advice. I will talk to my mechanic today and have him go that route. I forgot to go through the logbooks last night to see if when this happened previously whether they used a rebuilt / original or if they had gone with the Niagra part. It is odd that it's happened twice in ...

Delco starter repair vs replace with Skytec

Hi all, On Sunday, after a fantastic fly-in weekend where I was admiring how well my plane was performing and how well the weekend had gone, my starter failed after landing and fueling up. Luckily, I was back at my home airport and not stranded somewhere far from home, especially at a fly-in in the ...

Re: Finally found a 170, now I have questions!

Thanks Bruce, I'll give that a try soon. Yes Richard, I live in Round Rock and have my 170 based at Taylor. I have known Ken for years from when I bought my 140A and was looking for an instructor. After the last couple flights not having issues despite the 100 degree weather in Texas, I am leaning tow...

Finally found a 170, now I have questions!

After actively searching the first half of the year, I finally settled on a 170A in June. It has been a CRAZY summer with deaths in the family, lots of travel, work, and etc so I have not been able to fly as much as I had hoped. However, things seem to be settling down (knock on wood) and I've been ...

Re: Selling 140, Wanting 170B (Split Topic)

No, I bought it from a guy in South Carolina back in 2014 and have been flying it since. He had purchased it from Dave a few years prior to that. It's a great flying plane though and the only reason I'm selling is to go to 4 seats. The guy that is currently planning to buy it lives in Washington DC,...
