Yep. Another uneven fuel tank drain post. Last summer we removed the L tank, cleaned the area around the filler neck, replaced the gaskets, and put everything back in. I noted black flakes in the sump for a few tanks but nothing since. But... that tank has been increasingly slow to empty. Wondering ...

The 67 yo tabs are pretty worn. Ordered the shackles/clevis pins/cotter pins to slow down the wear (thanks to the detailed forum posts).
Curious what material one would use if one were to fabricate replacement tabs. Asking for a friend.

Next time you hear the ticking reach down touching the button on the end of the flap handle. Had a ticking noise on my 172 when I first bought it and finally figured that is what it was. The button in the end of the flap handle was vibrating. Little tape took care of that. Thanks for the add. Heard...
