While admitting that bird dropings are a pain.....you should also consider it an honour that the birds consider your machine "one of their own". (Birds of a feather flock together)

My son got his Private Pilots Certificate last year and flew year around. While we do have a lot of overcast the ceiling are high enough for VFR flight, most of the time. The Puget Sound is the only place I've lived where people start getting depressed and worried if they have 3 days of sunshine in ...

Eric Remember the Pontic 4 banger's Micky Thompson played with? Back in the 60's Micky Thompson proved there was a substitute for cubic inches.........."CUBIC MONEY"! I don't think there is an airplane or boat owner who isn't aware of the law of "cubic money".

Seattle news is reporting that Navy sonar has scanned the area near the survival gear that has an oil slick, and has identified an object that matches the dementions of a C-170. The water in this area is about 140 ft. deep.  The reality is one of our brothers has gone West!  :c...

Some things are sacrelegious. Would you advocate repainting the Mona Lisa or any other master? Some things are never done; regardless of legal, moral, or ethical acceptance. Add covering a fabric aircraft in metal to that list; regardless of what the factor did later. Remember that the factory did i...

My AI has had experience with F&M's galling on other installations and said his preference was for the airwolf.

Any one experience any galling or ideas on how to prevent it?

What are the Pro's and Con's of the AirWolf vs the F&M oil filter installations?

Are there any others on the market?

Nylon-control tube bushing installation

When I went to install the nylon bushings that came in the bag of parts I got with the airplane, they did not fit in the socket, without binding. 1. Do I have the wrong nylon bushings? 2. Does the installation need to be modified to make the nylon bushings work? 2.A. What needs to be done to make th...

Engine Paint

Seems to me there is a lot of heat in the engine compartment.

Does it require a special type of paint?

Or can I just grab a can of Krylon and go to work?

What kind (Brand and Type) do you recommend.
