Re: Throttle Control

I had a throttle cable failure a few years ago. I removed it and sent it to McFarland, and they returned the new, exact copy, throttle cable within a week. I realize Perth is a little further away than Alaska, but you will get a exact copy of what you have, and operational, very smooth.

Re: What is the seaplane lip?

Water taxiing and takeoffs requires relatively high power settings for long periods and this is often the most critical condition for cooling systems for float aircraft. Getting air out of the cowling is often the factor limiting how much air can be pushed through the engine and how well it is coole...

Re: Weight & Balance

In the case I am familiar with, the airplane was a 727. Vodka was used as a replacement for the empty tanks of deicing fluid. Since is was over 90 proof and 40 percent alcohol, it worked very well, and it was cheaper than the usual glycol..
Everyone was happy, almost.

Re: 8.50x6 tires

Re: 8.50x6 tires Single puck is adequate (and safer from a nose-over possibility) You got to be kidding George...If you believe this, would you define the difference of the 1953 Cessna 180 and later models to include the Cessna 185.. It would be hard to prove that a nose over problem has been caused...

Re: Shifting Cargo Loads

the source said in the email, "on rotation; engine/fuselage/tail parts were located on the runway", which probably indicates a tail strike..and yes the horizontal stab (the tail section) did not separate, and with the tail cone, were the only items left at crash site after the accident. Th...

Re: Real Word performance on the "B" model

Nice landing and beautiful weather. Looking at the Go Pro results shows that the landing was closer to 180 feet. The aircraft tail wheel touch down just before the Runway Threshold and before the beginning of the Threshold Markings and came to a stop beyond those markings. At Half Moon Bay Airport w...
