Anybody using an iphone 6 plus? I think this might be big enough? I'm using both an IPad Mini and an IPhone 6+ with a Stratus 2S and love the combo! https://www.backcountrypilot.org/images/originalphotos/groupphotos/2/3462/d8b5e899e21556357946e54d.jpg What did you use for the iPhone mount? Re: My first Annual and Weight and Balance
1214lbs sounds very light, If that weight is correct then that is by far the lightest 170 I have heard of. Does that weight include the 30lbs unusable fuel per the TCDS. Did your weigh it with tanks drained or did you fill them and subtract the 37 gallons of useable fuel from the weight. I did just ...

Re: Buss fuses
I'm bringing this thread back from the dead because I need some AGS fuses for my 170 which are very hard to find. I bought some from Yingling using the P/N S1091 hoping that was them. You must buy them in a pack of 5, the price is about $10, which I thought wasn't too bad. Then I found out that it's...

Re: 1953 Cessna 170 top cowling
By your name in guessing you live in AK? There's a guy named Simon in Alaska, he goes by Denalipilot on this site. Anyways he just put a lycoming IO-360 in his 170 and had a new cowling built for it by the guys at Chena Marina. It looks like they did a really good job on it and that may be something...

Re: Where to get yokes refurbished?
I had them custom made. They are scaled down from the 12" wide ones you can find that go on the tail.Heflin wrote:Still working on mine. I'd love to buy some of those graphics, Rob. Reckon your guy will sell some?

Re: Where to get yokes refurbished?
I removed the plastic on my yokes by taking a razor blade and shaving it off. I removed the remnants with paint stripper and a brush. I took them to the local powder coater and had them refinished for $40. Then I added some Cessna 170B decals that I had he local graphics shop make and the yokes look...

Re: Not looking forward to this repair (Fuel Vent Hose)
Thats the fuel vent line where it passes through the wing root area into the cabin. I replaced all 4 of those hoses when I did my restoration project last year. They are somewhat difficult to remove and replace. You will have a harder time since I'm sure you have a headliner in your plane.

Very nice! I also flew my family out to the coast last weekend. We spent 2 days down in Oceano visiting family. It was a great flight down and back.I would post some pics but I never have any luck with that on this site.

Re: Name change for the Eternal Project
Your project is looking great! I repainted my 53 170 last year with the same original paint scheme, well almost original. I also painted the leading edge of the wing. Also, I agree the lip on the cowling should be painted. https://www.backcountrypilot.org/images/originalphotos/544/4107/6329b14c9453...
