Re: Sad news

Jim , My condolences go out to you. Having lost my father two years ago now, I know the loss of time. I am still dealing with it and it is hard. My aviation activity has been tapered off as well. I used to be at the airport every day. One thing, I learned is that my airplane was still there and it w...

Re: 1956 172 gooseneck fuel vent

Your cap vent is inoperative. Repair or replace it. Also check to make sure you have pliable gaskets on the cap. Fuel problems are generally associated with rubber that has deteriorated in the valve and the seals. No. The cap vent is designed as a check-valve. It will contain pressure (except for t...

Remember, an ammeter indicates battery charge-rate or DIScharge-rate. This is where everyone went off into the weeds initially on this thread. Nice write ups from everyone and have I ever told you guys how much I hate dealing with electrical concepts? I suck! I am a graduate of a course in the Smok...

Re: C-145-2H Engine Overhaul

If you want to plug the muffler to pressure test, go to a local hardware store or plumbing supply house with your muffler in hand and ask for Econo-Plugs. They are basically a tapered solid rubber plug with a washer on each end and a bolt that runs thru the center and a wing nut on one end. Put the...
