When do you plan to make your trip? If you are looking at ski operation, I suggest you wait until March...longer days...somewhat warmer although you can still get -30-35C temp. Where are your friends located in the NWT? I may be able to help you with your flight planning....been pretty much everywhe...

Tim What sort of elevation are you usually operating from? If you have managed to put 500 hours on floats with the 145 hp I suppose that is not too bad! How much space/time to you need to be airborne at a 1000 feet asl in a normal Alaskan summer day with a normal load (no passenger, full fuel)? Brun...

Gary There is no Cessna 170 owner in Fort Smith yet although I am looking at replacing my Citabria eventually and the 170B is right up there on my list. I even looked at the one you bought as a matter of fact!!! I plan on flying with Hal sometime this coming summer to get a feeling of a 170 performa...

170 on skis
Hello Just wondering how the 170 performs on skis? I have a pretty good idea now about the performance on floats thanks to the responses received on this discussion forum. I am still flying my 7ECA and am also looking for a bigger airplane and the Cessna 170B is still on my list... Is it a good 2 pe...

Oil consumption
What would you consider a normal oil consumption for the O-300/C-145 HP engine?

MOGAS stc for C-145
Hi
I checked both the EAA and the Petersen websites for the list of eligible engine for a MOGAS stc and I only see the O-300 series listed and not the earlier C-145 models. Does that make sense? If so why is the C-145 not on that list? Something different about it?!?
Thanks

Eric The Canadian shield (Precambrian shield) is a vast expanse of exposed bedrock that covers most of northern Canada. It goes from the northern tip of Great Bear Lake (was just there a few days ago for work) in the NWT all the way to NewFoundland in eastern Canada. Contrary to most of Southern Can...
