Re: REPLACE HEADLINER ZIPPER
My old headliner showed up at work today, rescued from the upholsterers garbage can. I had that one custom made and copied directly from the original. The zipper is 50". Thanks to everyone that replied.

Re: REPLACE HEADLINER ZIPPER
Thanks. I had estimated 44" so 46 must be correct. I'm going to order from Spruce as well.

My zipper in the 48 runs lengthwise up from the aft end as you say. I gave mine away as a sample and didn't get it back so need the length of the zipper to have a new one made. Should be around 44" but maybe someone can measure theirs and let me know.

Re: Cabin Insulation Material
I see the Sound-Ex kits for the C-170 are $745 from the manufacturer and jumps to over $1000 for the same thing from Aircraft Spruce. I can sew several warm coats together.

Re: Cabin Insulation Material
Its actually not so much the soundproofing as the insulation for cold weather flying I'm looking for. The water tank silver wrap material was working pretty good but was disintegrating after 15 years or so.

Cabin Insulation Material
I have been wondering what people are using these days for insulation behind the sidepanels and above the headliner. Last time I used hot water tank insulation wrap that worked quite well but its worn out and ready for something new.

Re: adjusting static RPM
After dynamic balancing many prop/engines with a digital balancer, the average opposed engine indicates about 100 rpm lower than its really turning. Thats after about 150 examples. Its interesting that radials never seem to be more than 20-50 rpm out. The tachs never indicate higher than the engine ...

Re: C-3000 ski mod
Thanks for the info, I have passed it on. More specifically, a friend (instructor) at a tech school is trying to find data to install C-3000 skiis on a 180G model and so far he only has info to install these up to the F model. Apparantly these also fit the 170.

C-3000 ski mod
I'm looking for any data on the C-3000 or 3200 Air Glide (Wipaire) ski installation and can they be installed on a Cessna 180G?
