Looks wonderful great job!
I am looking at upgrading our interior later this winter/early spring. How was the install of the Airtex products Seat Assemblies, wall panels, and carpet?

Re: Annual question - ragwing fuel pump
My fuel pump is leaking from the gasket where the top half meets the lower half. Does anybody know where to get that gasket or material to make a new one?

Re: Winterization w/ STC'd cowl
I was wondering if anybody had a winter kit for a 48 or pictures for one. As for temps here in Indiana I think we are now stuck in the teens and I need to do something other than duct tape.
Thanks, Aaron
Thanks, Aaron

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
Thank everybody so much for helping me!!! I need some more help before I can fly. As I was trying to put this all back together last week and I determined I needed to replace the spring shackle. So I hopped on the internet and ordered a shackle from univair. I finally received it and it’s for a 14...

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
Thanks George and bluedr! I’m pretty sure that’s what is going on here. I don’t have the parts catalog of a B model or any documentation of a conversion, which I’m kinda worried about. I’ve looked though all the 337s and STCs and didn’t find any conversion. I did find that the tailwheel ...

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
My plane is a 48. What I am thinking is the spring system was switched to an A-B type?? The spring set that I ordered was for a 170 on the 5th loose spring (or the smallest) it says PMA 120, 140, 170. All the other ones say PMA 140, 170, A-B. I didn’t know there was difference /and mine was change...

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
After giving up and comeing home, I opened up the parts catalog and i'm even more confused. The tail of my plane doesnt look anything like it. It has the same set as the picture DaveF posted above. untitled.JPG Are the new springs thicker, because my spring shackle(85) will not fit? I think I have t...

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
Well I ordered all 5 springs, and I'm here at the airport trying to put them in but... When i pulled mine out i only have 4 single springs and the 5th one is bolted to the tail of the plane. The 5 springs that i got are all single. I called Univar they said to contacted the 170 org (haha). There is ...

Re: Grimes Landing Light Info
I've searched the entire web about these retractable landing lights when I was looking to buy one. The only information that I found was from here http://www.esscoaircraft.com/Grimes_Elect_Ret_Landing_Light_Instr_Parts_p/30051.htm . I believe it is the same manual as in the members section under oth...

Re: Fuel vent relocation to wing
I thought of an odd question while I was driving through the rain. I want to do some light IFR in my plane this summer. If I were to be flying through the rain, would any amount of rain, to be concerned about, enter my fuel system through the fuel vent or caps? I've never thought about it in any oth...

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
Does Aircraft Spruce have that, or do I have to get it from Air Repair Inc. A/C Spruce wants to know the AN # for their eyebots. I just want to be lazy and make one order.Or get the PN 0642105 eyebolt to accomodate a tie down rope.
Thanks

Re: Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
I don't know what you mean by "alignment"... (do you have the PN 0442011-3 spacer that adapts the tailwheel assy to the mainspring, installed?).. Sorry bad use of words. (I probably do, never checked but will.) What I was referring to was in the following picture, my tailwheel looks like ...

Tailwheel Leaf springs replacement
I've been debating if I need to replace the leaf springs. I don’t know how to determine if they need to. I’ve read on here that the main spring should be replaced every 500 hours, I haven’t found any logbook entry of it being done. So I was going to replace all of them. It also seems that the ...

Re: voltage reg
I just put on a rebuild generator last night, and just have to bolt on the new sold-state regulator sometime this weekend.(Got tired last night and too cold today). I was looking through the interior and found that the plane had a 25amp fuse for the 35amp generator and regulator. While I was searchi...

Re: generator to alternator
I have come up to the same question. Rebuild generator or switch to an alternator? I have the O-300-C in my 170 so I’m assuming I have the dampened crank, and also the previous owner told me it has the 35amp generator. Normally I would have rebuilt the generator and gone on, but I recently got the...
