Re: Lycoming conversion cowl mod
I bought my "bumps" from Harry , as I recall the price was pretty reasonable
when you take into account the time it would take to make your own.
Workmanship was really good.........all I had to do was rivet them on,
prep and paint.

What is your prop pitched at???
If it's a coarse pitch prop then 2250 might be fine, it's still within limits.

Re: Gear legs
Everything fits ......but if you're going to the trouble and expense of 180 legs
you might want to install solid aluminum, or steel axles for extra strength and
safety.
new steel axles are around $300. each
good luck.........

Re: Max Voltage regulator output
You might want to get a good quality voltmeter and check voltage with engine running,
maybe your guage is reading a little high.
Bruce is right about problems you will encounter if you are over charging.
Good luck........Jim

Re: Brakes question
Thanks Bruce..............I'm creating a paper trail for Transport Canada and i wanted to
make sure these were good brakes.......they came from another '56 172 so I think I'll be OK
I have to double check but I seem to remember the fravel STC paperwork showing Ceveland
brakes as an option.

Re: Solenoid/voltage regulator problem
Possibly a faulty master switch..........dirty contacts or a loose wire in the master switch circuit. You might try wiggling
the master switch and see if that tells you anything.
Some of these folks here will surely figure it out.....good luck
