Re: N1946C has moved from Seattle to Bakersfield
Thanks for the great recommendations. I have been to Oceano, Taft, Santa Inez, and recently Chino for the airshow. My brother was born in Avenal, so I will have to visit there. I also look forward to visiting Fresno and Kernville. I'm always open to suggestions and I regularly check the AOPA Calenda...

N1946C has moved from Seattle to Bakersfield
Hello All I have recently retired from my job in Seattle. I've moved to Bakersfield near where I was raised in Taft, Ca. I've found a hangar at Meadows field and have moved "Charlie" to her new home. I'm hoping to find fellow 170 enthusiasts in the area and perhaps make a few flying friend...

Production Date
Hello All I am wondering what the easiest way to determine the production date of my 170. The aircraft is N1946C ser# 26091. It is a '54 B model and I believe it was built in November of '53. I'm curious if its possible to determine the day it rolled off the assembly line. Any help is always appreci...

Re: Gust Locks
I use a similar device to the one in the photo. Mine is made from bungy cords and hog rings. I like the idea of having some movement and shock absorbancy. I also use a bungy that passes through the space between the pilot seat and seatback. It attaches to one of the seat cross braces on one end and ...

Re: Testing file upload
Thanks Bruce. It's been a while since I've been here and I really like the changes that have made it so easy to illustrate a point, or just share an image. Thanks for the clarification on usage.

Re: Heat vent controllers
I guess the other question would be of legality. If I were to add this mod, what kind of reporting needs to be done?

Heat vent controllers
I've been thinking of making some sort of device to enable me to control the three door vents located on the heat plenum. The idea is to be able to independently control the heat on the right or left side of the cabin. The advantage would be for individual comfort and, when both are closed, to diver...

Re: Alaska bound.....
Hello All I've made two trips to Alaska over the last few years. I'll be going again this year in the last two weeks of September. The first trip I took was in early September and the weather was great. It was also late in the season for bugs, so they were not an issue. The second trip was in July. ...
